  • @Super229229 The "lie" is that the quarter note is half a second. This is true only if the tempo of the song is 120 BPM (which can be set using a metronome). Choosing a different BPM will "scale" the duration of all notes, e.g. for 60 BPM, a quarter note will be a second long, a half note 2 seconds, an eighth will be half a second, etc. Changing the BPM is like zooming in or out, in a sense - it scales the duration of all notes.
