Super Speed - old dos racing video game

I used to like this game in the 90s. Super Speed racing. It was great!

You can play up to 4 players on the same computer.
You race around collecting wrenches. If you get four you can pick an upgrade (speed, acceleration or traction).

The game keeps going through the same 7 levels or so (all of them are shown here) while the number of traps and cpu difficulty increases.

If you ever get last place you lose your score, all your upgrades and have to start over.

The game was played using DosBOX, recorded using HyperCam 2, edited with VirtualDub, and recoded using xvid. I cut out MOST of the winning points screen and the 'get ready to race' page to save time...a few of them are left in just so you can see what it was like.

Ahhh, nostalgia.

I used to play this game on my computer with my friends. I would get so far because they'd help me out by crashing into the npc to slow him down so I would keep winning.

The game would get really hard after like 30 levels though lol.

wow, me and my friend used to play this game for hours! I think we once did a 3 player game, one person on the left side of the keyboard, one person on the right side of the keyboard, and then a gravis game pad for player 3...haha.

the game did get hard after you leveled up your engines and tires and all that stuff... but man was it addicting!

I had been looking for this game for YEARS because I used to play it back in the early 90s. Searching for "Super Speed" was not a good idea, since it was such a broad search.

I just downloaded it and I enjoyed remembering how fun this game is. I forgot that little imp that reversed your controls and tried to mess you up. :D
