From http://www.thepsychfiles.com Depression and other mental health problems are often treated with medications which are called Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors and/or Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors. How do they work? I'll show you in this brief video.

i love the way you say "people who experience depression have low levels of seratonin".there isnt any proof whatsoever that depressed people have low levels of seratonin.there arent any tests to prove this.where is the test to prove low levels of seratonin??what you have are multi billion dollar drug companies selling this to individuals on the basis that they have a chemical imbalance and therefore are depressed.so they can get addicted like i have.no better than street dealers selling crack.

I personally reccomend 5-htp over SSRIs. Rather than interfering with your neurons, 5-htp is simply a serotonin precursor meaning your body converts it to serotonin. Therefore higher serotonin levels is the only side effect

Excellent video, deeply felt thanks. You showed us visually , so clear picture of whats going on. Please please continue educating us in more videos.
My question is , how we can find out if the depression is due to reuptake or destruction by MAO?
Thanks.
