  • Hey, thanks but I think you misunderstood my post. I always knew a failed drive in raid0 = not possible to recover data. It was my motherboard that failed, my drives were intact and therefore my array. I successfully got the array rebuilt on a new computer.

  • If this is a reply to a too old post, sorry @ video poster.

@PRODIGY5369 I'm really sorry to break this to you, but no. A RAID 0 array, as you should have known building it, is in no way fixable if one of the drives dies. That is because raid 0 is striped over both disks as opposed to raid 1,5,6 or any other config with backup / parity. All your data is lost.

@OP: Thanks for the vid, gave me a bit more info on how to replace my raid 5 disk that failed ;).

  • This is exactly what I needed, thank you for posting this :)

  • Hi, I think this may be of use to me. My old P4 mobo recently failed with which I had a raid0 array driven by a Sil3112 controller. Im looking for a way to recover the photos/movies on this array to a back up disk. Then discard the array and the old XP OS.

This looks like the way to do it, is that correct ?

    Many thanks in advance.
