Billy Joel tries to fix a piano in front of 40,000

After Elton John's piano stops working correctly at DC's Nationals Park, Billy rolls up his sleeves and dives under the baby grand. Elton eventually leaves the stage, Billy calls for his band and they start their set on the fly while repairs are made. Elton later returns after Billy's set.

Elton and Billy were a bad match. Billy in the 80's sounded much like Elton. Elton got clean and sober. Billy.......

I've been a piano tuner-tech for 30 years. Things like this are unpredictable, especially when the piano is outside, more exposed to the weather than when inside. I prepared the piano for George Winston once. Halfway through the show the soft pedal started squeaking. Let me assure you, that kind of thing is mortifying to a piano tuner! It was easily fixed during intermission and GW was gracious about it. Having experienced that kind of thing before, he was thankful to now know how to fix it.
