Thank you so much!!! I was but a War Baby in Australia and American music and movies were my link to my dishonorable father's country. There was a DJ in Brisbane who really spun the R & B tunes...Bill O'Brien.. Always interested in credits for the arranger and conductor. I know Riley Hampton worked with Dee.

You're probably more familiar with his work than you realize: MERCY MERCY (covered by Rolling Stones) CHAIN OF FOOLS & SEE SAW (Aretha Franklin) SOOKIE SOOKIE (Steppenwolf) just to name a few...Don also hit the top 40 with "Mercy Mercy" in 1965 and "I Was Checkin Out, She Was Checkin In," in 1973-a true underappreciated legend!

Never heard of Don Covay before, will check him out, thanks! But for pure vocals, Dee Clark and Jackie Wilson a cut above IMHO.

I totally thought a woman sang this song. I sang this song in the early 90s as an assignment in my first voice class. This was the first song I personally chose to sing. Nobody else new that Dee Clark was a man. It is so funny now this I know this. I can't wait to break the news to my friend. I love the song and I still have trouble accepting that this man sang this song. lol

I LOVE this song - have since I first heard it. His voice, the gorgeous by zen-eloquent arrangement, and now to hear it stereo....
Didn't know Bobby Parker wrote this; have to check it out.
It's so sad that Clark died young, but he left an amazing body of work, from the Kool Gents through his soul work in the '60s. Thanks for ALL the fine music, Dee!

Man, I loved hearing this so much for the first time that I immediately hit "replay." Honestly, I'm not gonna suffer if I never hear "Raindrops" or "Hey Little Girl" again (no disrespect to some fine records, but talk about overplayed!) but it's amazing to hear how versatile Dee Dlark can be (and this was a B side?!)
