@tallglassofwater007 I agree with you (bear in mind I do TKD and nothing else), however, I only believe this is true for Olympic TKD. Proper (traditional) TKD (whether it be ITF or WTF) even has a ground game and takedowns and elbows and all that, it's just that most schools only focus on the competitive aspect, and not on the martial art aspect anymore. I make it a point to also learn techniques which would be more useful in a real fight, next to competing in matches.

@nosfero Don't assume I have never rolled with a skilled "TKD guy" either. (For the record, I put him in an armbar) I'm not saying TKD is crap. it's a great base for kicks. But as an all around form of self defense, or even sport fighting against non TKD, I don't like it. There is no defense at all in TKD. Im not a fan of point fighting.

I respect any form of Martial Art. But I just can't get into one that leaves your hands down at your hips the entire time.
