Thats not the point.
the point is a $1000+ notebook with a 2.2ghz core 2 duo and sata 72000rpm drive is alot slower than a $400 900mhz budget notebook.
no need to get geeky and smarta55 about it.

i used 2 usb flash drives, one with a copied XP installation and the other with a boot programme called ghost, it only takes 3 mins to install this way, though its a little complicated to set up.
