YOUR INJURY COULD BE...

Hamstring Tear.

REHAB YOUR INJURY BY...

Control Inflammation: Take anti-inflammatories (Aleve, Advil, etc.) as appropriate for you and your stomach.

Icing: 15 minutes for 2 to 3 times per day, with at least one hour in-between.

Gentle Massage: Prop your leg up in a position so you can massage right over the area on your hamstring that hurts - it should be gentle and not painful at all. If you apply too much pressure right away, you will feel pain. Start with light pressure and as you keep massaging you will notice you can apply more pressure through that area.

Gentle Hamstring Stretching: Lie on your back with your legs straight out. Grab behind your knee and gently lift your foot up towards the ceiling. Lift as high as you can without any pain. Hold that position for about 15 seconds. Repeat this 3 times on each leg.

Strengthening: Using weight equipment, perform hamstring curls. Begin with low weight and high repetitions. Perform 2 sets of 20 repetitions.

  • before it happened to me I could do the splits but one wrong kick that I've done many times and I heard a pop and said "oh sh....." before the pain hit. and by the time I got home my whole leg was swollen and the back of leg was black and blew from my calf to my buttocks.

  • but it feels like its somewhere in my upper hamstring close to the buttocks area

  • heres my problem. I sprained my hamstring about 9 years ago and the pain still comes back. I don't know if its a knot, or what. But it's made it extremely hard to exercise.

  • nice,comftorble exlpanations,perfected timing

  • my hamstring hurt when i run and put pressure on it i think i hurt it a week back or so. can you help me so it doesnt hurt anymore

  • I recently got kicked on my outer calf(not sure what its called) and their is no swelling or bruising. Any slight bump or tap to it hurts real bad but i can still jump, run, and walk normally with no pain. Can you help in any way?
