Making Rosary Beads with Annealed 0.9 Stainless Steel wire, 6mm Amethyst beads and Sterling Silver.

I made the cross and centre piece from melted down old Sterling, rolled it and drew it out to the shapes through draw plates and rollers. I got the idea to make a rosary from an old friend "Horse".

Sorry for the vice handle in the whole film... I saw it when I edited it.
I decided to go away from the "continuous" method of chain making and cut each individual link separate to make sure that I have continuity in all links. It probably took a little longer but the end result was a very consistent link and length. I also chose to use stainless wire for its longevity. The wire is the type that is used in the fishing industry I was told and this is soft enough to work but it will harden if bent several times. I found it quite easy to use and the finish again was very satisfactory.

The whole process took about 20 hours or so. I had to redo some of the links and some of the twists because I wasn't happy with the finish. This is the first set that I have made. I have since made another set, similar but individual again.

A lot of information was sourced from You Tube, Thanks to those who have taken the time to post. I found this guy quite useful and he put together a great 7 part series.
