Reaction: CIA's secret program

Since 2001, he CIA has reportedly been planning a secret operation that involves dispatching small terms overseas to capture and kill Al Qaeda members. Do you think it was a good idea fro the agency to create hit squads? Do you believe theres any difference between using hit squads or Predator drones to kill terrorists? Should Congress have been informed of the program, even though nothing was even carried out?

I say if Al Qaeda declared war on us, and then made the warzone EVERYWHERE, we call the CIA team a patrol, and not a hit squad. We can call the attacks on Al Qaeda members they carry out ambushes, not assassinations. And I also say that people should probably get out of the mindset that when somebody isn't watching a soldier or CIA operative they automatically start spraying kids with bullets. Just be smarter than that please.

How stupid ARE the American people really?

These "CIA hit squads" had virtually NO oversight--and that means THEY COULD EASILY HAVE BEEN KILLING THE WRONG PEOPLE. The almost certain retribution against us for this puts our troops in further danger abroad and our own people in danger at home.

This is illegal--and Dick Cheney as well as those who were "just following orders" should be punished for putting our nation at further risk.

it's more than secret operatives going into other countries to kill terrorists that Cheney wanted to keep secret. This reason isn't shocking enough for Panetta to rush to congress and for both Dems and Repubs to be appalled about. There's more and it will play out soon.

It's a war, hello. You have to kill enemy soldiers. We should be thankful that some people are willing to put themselves in harm's way to protect Americans so we can sit home and belly ache.
