The problem with the Euro is that it brings together lots of different countries with entirely different needs and tries to turn them into one country. It is a political project not an economic one, and all but the political elite can see that it has failed.
This is why we are NOT in the euro their cannot 'float' their currency. Plus the British people would not want to join a currency whereby the EU cannot get it's accounts signed off due to fraud.

I don't know why countries like Slovakia or Estonia want to adopt the Euro - even countries like Sweden or Switzerland shy away from it.
The Euro is driven by the German economy, that exports more industrial goods then the USA and Japan combined.
If you can't keep up with the wolf, it will eat you. Just look at Greece.
