This is an interview with Bob Luitweiler, the founder of SERVAS, an organization promoting world peace. In this interview I have tried to highlight some of Bob's concerns for SERVAS and the peace movement. Bob Luitweiler has been a peace activist since the 1930's and refused to serve in World War II based on his ideals. He spend 4 years in prison because of those ideals. After the war Bob began to travel again and started SERVAS as an experiment and a dialog to bring people together and think about ways to create a peaceful society. Bob recently died April 14th, 2008 at age 90. For more information on SERVAS, please go to www.servas.org

Servas is named in the language Esperanto, but I don't see an Esperanto option at Servas website.. Pasporta Servo, similar to Servas, is for Esperanto speakers. Couchsurfing translates its site to Esperanto. Hospitality Club translates its site to Esperanto. I think Bob would be happy to see an Esperanto translation of the Servas site.
For more on Esperanto go to EsperantoFriends.blogspot.

Dream a little. Become a part of a community of global peace-seekers. Learn a new way of speaking, traveling and listening.
