This is a tutorial on how to convert MKV files to MPG, AVI and DVD format. As well as a way to hardsub (permanent subtitles on your video) things like foreign films, anime, etc so that you can watch them on your PS3, PSP, iPod, phones, etc.

There are several ways and programs to do all of this, these are just ones I use myself.

All these links should be safe, but use a virus protection program and download at your own risk. I take no responsibility for your actions.

  • for non attached softsubs, try handbrake. Load your mkv file(remember to save it in "mkv" file too) then below go to subtitles click import subtitles check default and then add.

  • @ReneidKlein hey, I find your tutorial very useful. There's a bit of a prob thou, I had a edit subtitles and muxed it cycle until I finally finished every detail then the after I try to evaluate it my video got cut up 3/4 of the whole thing...what to do?
