I still don't get it.Why does Fitzpatrick say that?"Who are you Tex?" How is it related to Tex staring at the inside of the spacecraft?Anyone cares to explain?

That part was added during filming by the actor who plays Fitzpatrick. Perhaps it's meant to make us think? Chris Jones and Aaron Conners haven't explained it either.
But if it must be explained, I suppose it has something to do with the multiple endings and what kind of person Tex becomes at the end.
