I took my Dad to see them in the early 80`s,it was without Doubt one of the best night`s I ever spent,They were Brilliant,Such Fun,Cool music,Thanks for posting this.

I remember : We starting promote Kid Creole march 1981 in our Discos (Zorba the Buddha cologne) the result : he got a rocket.......boom.....great time...best thank,s for uploading and sharing the video with us....Pete

This man should have played the phenomenal, legendary Cab Calloway! They had discussions to play him before his passing. I don't know if it's too late. He is soo much like him performance and showmanship, and of course, talent!

It makes me sad to think that this band will never be like this again and there is so little high quality footage of them from this period. With the way things are going now, there will never be another real band like this one playing real music like this again.

@queenastilon Yes, that performance was on YouTube for a while but seems to have disappeared. You're right - you could also see Cheryl's face a lot better.

That's Coati Mundi, aka. Andy Hernandez who also parries with August Darnell as they go through their Black Books. Check out his hit, 'Me No Pop I' also from the early 80s. They really provided a different slant on New York's burgeoning alternative dance music scene at the time. It was all about personality

Lead singer on this performance is Cheryl Poirier, who joined the band shortly after the first album.
