Bishop Gene Robinson announced to New Hampshire's diocesan convention that he will retire at the end of 2013. It appears as if the decision was made primarily due to the negative attention he has received from all over the world since his historical election in 2003. The reason for the lengthy time period, he explains, is to allow for what he refers to as "a smooth and unhurried process of transition, for the diocese and for (himself)."

  • If you're going to write death threats ("Death to Faggits?") at least use correct spelling. Otherwise, you look like an idiot.

  • @ 10:27 why is that man filled with such hate?...

  • now we can eliminate this church on the "there can only be one true church with the right authority" list.

  • @XforeverlongingX "...if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge...but have not love, I am nothing....Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." [1 Corinthians 13:2-7]

  • And we DON'T need to alter scripture so that some invisible asshole in the sky will love us. THAT is illusory and THAT is insulting to us in the LGBT community.

  • @kmelfina Hogwash. You cannot be gay and be a Christian. Anyone who is telling you can is the same asshole who wants to sell you a bridge. The Christian God hates gay people. Get used to it. Christianity is not the friend of us in the LGBT community. We don't need ANYone to tell us who to sleep with and in what position, or to tell us how we should live our lives. I have a brain and rationality. I can figure it out on my own. Thanks.

  • He was elected? Elect = people had chosen him so I'd say he deserved the position since he had something the others didn't have. Sexual Misconduct/other site allegations were commited by priests who weren't gay, so this wouldn't be a good attack lol. The hell is wrong with these letters, so much for "Christianity" whether Catholic, Anglican etc. Seems the people fail to relate if they are either the Pharisees of Jesus's time with the laws/traditions or disciples today on real love for others.
