Thanks for this very informative video, Morgan. I stupidly sold my Prophet 5 v. 3.3 a few years ago, thinking that I'd never venture out of playing jazz, but here I am playing in some bands and writing music for which a Prophet would be a great addition, even centerpiece. So, I'm buying a Prophet 08 before summer and plan to experiment with it all summer long. Many thanks to you and others posting good info on Dave's new masterpiece(s).

@Tibbon i guess so :) i agree, i will get one of these someday :)

@francaisemusique I totally understand that. We've all been there. But I've also realized in life that some things aren't overpriced, they just aren't things that you need to have at this point in your life. I know when I was 17 there was gear I couldn't afford, but that doesn't mean it was overpriced. I just wasn't making enough. I think what Dave has done here is make a very affordable synth, for a professional musician.

@Tibbon i will think of one, just to be awkard haha :L it is quite expensive, but tbf i am an unemployed 17 year old :L

@francaisemusique What do you think is a more reasonable price for an 8 voice analog polysynth?
-
brilliant synth, shame about the pricetag ..

David Guetta keeps disliking these videos.

parallel fifths are not allowed in traditional music composition

@VivacissimoMedia ok i have that but what cords do i need? MIDI cords?
Look secondhand, I saw an ad for a Prophet 8 for £750. There's an Arts Council scheme called Take it Away which offers part loans for all kinds of instruments, new and secondhand and lessons. The bloke in OMD got his Korg micro preset from his Mum's Kays catalogue and paid in instalments, another 80s star worked in a Yoghurt factory to save up for a synth.
