GAMYAA actors doing a stage performance on Slavery and African Culture
The Gambia Youth Actors Association (GAMYAA) was formed by a group of young people who realised the need to contribute to the movie industry here in the Gambia. The association had its first General Asssembly on the 21st of Febraury 2009.
Description Mission: The Mission of the Association includes:
· Promoting the Gambia Culture through l Performance arts
· Challenging youths in to appreciate the diverse cultures of The Gambia
· Promoting creativity and innovation in The Gambia
· Educating young people for leadership tomorrow


Focus: The Focus of the association includes
· Violence against women
· The rights of the child
· Conflict prevention and resolution
· Sustainable development and the environment

Public Transit The Gambia Youth Actors Association(GAMYAA) was officially launched on the 21st of february 2009 at the Mayors Chambers in KMC. the association has the key objective of promoting the Gambia culture through physical performance, this was first demonstrated at a colourful ceremony which was held at Kairaba Avenue it was a bombshell, our minister of youth and sport Hon. Sheriff Gomez was among the dignitaries, councillor at the american embassy, representatives at the Nigeria High Commission, Director General at the Nnational Centre for Arts and Culture(NCAC)
