There is an samurai code, that once one has found the perfect cherry blossom, then he is a samurai. The answer to the riddle is, "they are all perfect". At least that is what the director/producer of this movie, obviously had in mind.

@Fatboyswim123 CORRECT! Religious talk among most ppl usually lead to assumption of each individual's own self being overly wise. A sign of stupidity and lack of wisdom no doubt! However, if you take his words w/ the haiku he said, you would realize he was talking about the life as a "whole". Also "seeing perfect" in his death moment means he achieved peace in his heart. Peace...a very strong word, often misinterpreted by many.
