This is part of what Dr. George Watkins experienced on his trip to Thailand In January 2010. This is at the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp north of Chiang Mai. Some of these elephants have been rescued from Burma while others have been raised in the camp. There are a national of Thailand and cared for extremely well. It takes an unimaginable amount of patience and skill by the trainers plus about 5 to 6 years of continual training.

  • I'd like to know whether the trainers trained the elephants to respond to voice commands when the elephants were painting. It takes all of us years to learn how to draw and paint. Yes, we begin in kindergarten, and practice doodling and drawing in many classes in school! If the animals are creating these paintings of their own volition, and directionI think that it's amazing!

  • This video is awesome, I can't believe more people haven't seen this.
