Shows how to wear it. It is made of 6 shaku (equivalent to 2 meters) long cloth. By tighting up the cloth, it becomes good swim suit. It is also used men's cloth for traditional festivals. Men only with this cloth run on streets. Modern Japanese men are reluctant to wear it because their hips appear. Traditional men woudn't care.

  • Western civilization shouldn't have as much of an effect as it does. I am American, and many things about my country I am not proud of. I see no problem with the fundoshi. Hell, I'd wear one myself even though I'm a girl. It covers everything, and no one really minds seeing butt.

Speaking of, you have a nice butt.

  • @RyuuzakipwnsLight Native Americans wore it but white folks forced them not to wear it and believe in Jesus. That is the history behind.

  • Hey I was making a joke. Try not to be so serious and learn to laugh a little.

  • @wicreed Sorry, I do not mean to offend you. But part of the reason I showed this video is to express my resistance towards white supremacy. In early 20th century Japanese swimmers practice in fundoshi but not allowed to wear it in Olympics. Now they don't even use it for practice. Most modern men don't even know how to wear this.

  • Why men should not wear thongs.

  • @wicreed Because westerners told Japanese loincloth are barbaric and uncivilized. Like your anscestors told native people in the continent. Westerners think their own culture is only superior thing in the world.

  • @maddcat0 Yeah, terrific, beautiful looking butt.

  • @masagata2007 I really appriciate the how to tie a Fundoshi part... but why the push ups at the end

  • @limpidd At least not in back it doesn't.

  • @masagata2007 Do you know this to be true or are you spouting off. I suspect the real reason is they discoverd they could get dressed in half the time with boxers or briefs.

  • Intersting, but takes too long to put on, plus I could never get used to having that much material wedged up my crack. Nice to know an alternative in case I am stranded without underwhere, though.

  • Holy crap, are you saying i can swim in these and spend only 10 bucks for it instead for a 30 dollar one in a retail store AWESOME!.

  • fundoshi is OK, Pushups need practice!

  • I seeno problem at all with fundoshi. It's sad that American society should be able to influence traditional Japanese views on everything from clothing (fundoshi) to bathing (mixed-gender bathing at onsen).
