The United Nations are warning the world that a decade-high food crisis is coming. It's no wonder then that food security is on the top of the G8 agenda. The agriculture ministers are meeting in Paris to find a solution on how to better tackle the problem - but the solution demands understanding. At the moment it seems that world officials hardly understand what's behind the food spikes. Daniel Dicker, senior contributor of thestreet.com, tries to shed some light on the matter.

  • @paullie6719 Yup

  • 30000 people die of starvation each day..., don't worry, we'll kill 30 million a day before a single American ever loses an ounce!

  • There are way too many people on this earth! You can generate a peak in food production for a while, as we did with the green revolution, but it cannot last forever. In many countries food production is flat or declining, but population is booming, does it make any sense? Eventually population has to be stabilised at more sustainable levels.

  • The problem is mainly because of the world drought and low supply of farmers. Some people where i live are farmers make up 4-9%. Back then famrer made up 28-36%, but these days people are stupid to do business jobs. There's already enough people to handle financial jobs, and listen to me farming isn't hard at all, because of the auto gps on tracters. Plus want to know something else? The government is paying farmer not to grow food, which causes 30-40% of the problem. Take this message serious.

  • @r0ll0t0masi you got that right. There's more too it though. Matthew 24 warns that there will be wars and "rumors" of war, and there will be famine pestilence and earthquake. In other words there will be wars. and rumors that covert wars are being fought with covert weapons like famine plague and earthquake.. the horsemen of revelation warn that this will effect 1/4 of the earth. /watch?v=U1cJgJHLv54

  • There is no "spike in food prices". Its simply a decline in the value of fiat currencies caused by the printing of money by most governments in the world.

  • I made a compilation of all the droughts and different reasons behind the food crisis right now. it appears to be a really big problem /watch?v=jaVgyEuLA84

  • @geffel My statement isn't regarding this specific video, but more of a theme that's been developing more lately. It's like RT is here to poke holes but offers no solutions.
