Well, finally... after far too long (and while we work on other projects) here's a quick little something tossed together featuring many outfits in a Steampunk vein from the Toronto Steampunk Society outings and Ad Astra costume presentations [and working clips from several video shots we've done].
A quick whip-together, two second frames not really synched with the music (this took me an hour and a touch to slam up) but a good run of examples of the outfits that are being featured in Ontario's Capital by the folk who are into the steamier side of things.
Here's hoping it doesn't look TOO horrible.

hrmmm.... a lot of this just looks like victorian clothing + goggles.... not much to that, are there more details too small to see?

Great stuff! Very inspirational! I will be dressing steampunk for the first time at Dragoncon 2009. Search enganear for videos of my steampunk "artifacts". Thanks for posting this!

The music is by a group called Klaatu who were around in the 70s.
The Vanguard Papers is the name of the video 'team' who put this stuff together.

I've never heard of Vanguard. Is it a band?

This makes me really, really happy. I never realized how many steam punks there are here in Toronto. Wonderful choice of music, by the way. Who wrote this piece?

I think the biggest difference is neo-Victorianism has to do with the fact that Steampunk really can come from any era really just has to have the "look" I've seen 1920's inspired steampunks
Neo-victorianism has a look of beening inspired by the victorian era or copy of the era.
Some Neo-victorians actually have idea of "act of the age" thing going on
I am more of Post-Apocalyptic Steampunk
