My submission for Lyrick's Nupersova Contest.

Lyrics:

What's really bad? Is it the moment when we fail our parents?
Is it when they're disappointed? You know it's apparent
cause it's written on their faces; they will not declare it.
You just gotta get that salary and buy McLarens
for the entire family; then their anxieties will
fly away and will never come running back to battle me.
But here's the catch: you have gotta make sure to leave your dreams
in the gutter, kick it's stomach, then proceed to pursue the cheese.
You will then discover a level of happiness
that can be described as an empty pit or a cold abyss.
At least your bills will be paid; purchase whatever you crave.
It's much better than having a job with a minimum wage.
That's what I've been told all of my life: to live in abundance.
To give it 100 percent of my focus to increase my funds and
put my security in a large sum; who needs a budget?
Aim for the sky, but lose your soul on your way to the summit.

Lyrics definitely shows the depth of the expectations we receive from most parents.. It really makes me stop and question my dreams and goals.. Where did I get them from? Did my parents set my goals? -sigh.. Life of a teenager is difficult..
