Cold Frame - Cheap - NormalGuyDIY

I built a cold frame for starting seeds this year. Used a free patio door that the neighbor was tossing out, and 2x8's from a deck that I am removing. Made for a very heavy box, but it's well insulated that way.

Hope this helps give ideas, I just want to contribute to pay back the YouTube community for all the videos that I've watched and helped me out. Thanks all!

Wow! First, I've subscribed to your channel, great videos! I am building shelves in my garage and will use your design. Second I have an extra sliding glass door set in my garage that is completely in the way, yet I hate to get rid of it. This video has not only saved room in my garage, but also allowed us to have a "green house" for starting seeds early.

For your door issue... instead of a "Prop Rod" as used for hoods on cars... have you thought of "Lift support systems" like on Trunks or high end car hoods? They are also cheap... $10-$20 a pair....

@Runcore I actually did look for "assist hinges" at Lowes, but they didn't have anything. I thought those hood lifts would be too expensive or weak, but I'll look, Thanks!

Used glass shower doors work well too.
