Near the ruins of Fort Mistik, an indian community which was torched by the colonists during the Pequot War of 1636-37. This was the first indian war in the colonies, and it wet the stage for the indian policies which were to follow. And it was written that upon the scorched corpses of approximately 500 Pequot men, women and children, the British colonists would found a town that would be famous for its subjugation of nature.
