Description: As many of you might know Flipsyde (Chantelle Paige, Steve, Piper, Dave Lopez) was dropped from their label Interscope/Cherrytree Records, which is the idea behind my set up of the video, a Flipsyde tribute, and (lets hope not) our goodbye to them.. tied up in the perfect song, "When it was good" off their sophmore album "State Of Survival"
*Feel free to comment with your thoughts about them being dropped from the label
i love this song!!!!

@Witness2TheWade Yeah, many labels are to blame for the fall of many great groups. For the original Flipsyde purists, I can understand how they would think Akon and Chantelle Paige would ruin the band since they had become accustomed with the band without them and fell in love with the music before they popped in. But in my opinion, Chantelle and Akon's production made the band more mainstream music friendly giving the band a Black Eyed Peas sound. I just wish the group would get back together.

(cont.) It was Interscope that did not promote We the People correctly in 2005 (probably because they were more concerned about maximizing G-Unit Records), then had the nerve to think the problem was that Flipsyde wasn't "hot" enough in spite of how marketable Someday could easily be with a little effort. It was Interscope that pushed the Kon/Telle combination on Flipsyde for State of Survival and then had the nerve to restrict their creative freedom and ability to make it work.

@billabongmnkyboy Some purist fans who started out with Flipsyde through We the People actually think it was Akon and Chantelle's inclusion in the first place that ruined the band. I beg to differ with those people. Kon has worked with Flipsyde in the past without them having to change ANYTHING, and Chantelle has proven that she can blend in within their intended framework given the right material. The blame lies with Interscope for the failings in this band.

@glitznglamify Some labels just don't know how to promote musicians. The label they were signed to (Universal/SRC/Interscope) is pretty notorious for being bad at promoting. They also dropped artists and postponed albums by other artists like Tami Chynn, Eve, and Kat DeLuna to name a few. Eve never released her "Here I Am" album and is now with a new label. Tami Chynn decided to cut her ties with SRC because they didn't promote her music at all. Same with Kat DeLuna and Flipsyde.

@cyberchaser75 The only one available is the Moto Blanco remix that was used in this video. You can find it online. You just have to google the right words to find it. But there's nothing that's longer than 5 minutes. This is the only one I can find.

@trish4ish You think so? I think the opposite, actually. I liked how they had their different styles of singing and how they mixed their different backgrounds in music to create the ecclectic sound in State Of Survival. They had a mix of rock, pop, hip hop, dancehall, and reggae. I think the reggae and dancehall came from the album being produced by RedOne. But I actually am disappointed that the band is not together. I do like her solo EP though. But it doesn't strike me like Flipsyde does.

I'm glad Flipsyde broke up, Chantelle needs to go solo, Her new EP is amazing without Flipsyde, better sound for her! Love the STATE OF SURVIVAL tracks though.

I spoke to Dave on YouTube, and what he told me is he doesn't know if Flipsyde'll ever come back but if it does it'll be We the People style. Nothing about any plans, though.
There's gotta be some label that sees opportunity in Flipsyde and goes up to bat for them, I'd hope.
