@Givingheart: I'm of the opinion that the music from the time frame you mention represents the upper layer of a renaissance that took place on all levels. We are still, in some ways, being propelled by what sprang forth from that period. Times are just as schizophrenic as they were back then. We have liberal values running up against economic conservatism among other shisms. People accept varieties of duplicity that are so readily accepted as truth - a gruelling form of self-deceit for certain.
