    @gameover4179 Nixon was the one who wanted to get us OUT of Vietnam. You're thinking of Kennedy and especially Johnson...not Nixon.

  • @mccarrpo the hippies of the latter 1960s weren't necessarly communist, but certainly anti-American. And remember, not all young people in the 1960s were hippies. Hippies were a loud minority of the population, causing major civil disruption and disconcertion, which is why they tend to overshadow the "silent majority" of young people who stayed normal. That's why this ad features them prominently, to remind Americans that not all youths were rebellious.

  • The youth of 1968 were a bunch of communist hippies.
