Ventura 69, West Ranch 48 boys basketball playoffs

The Ventura boys basketball team beat West Ranch in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs on Wednesday night at Ventura High School.
Dylan Houck scored a game-high 26 points and made four 3-pointers for Ventura, the top-seeded team in the Division 2AA playoffs.
Ventura's Jon McMurry made three 3-pointers in the second half and finished with nine points.
West Ranch took a 17-16 lead in the first quarter. But Ventura outscored West Ranch, 20-4, in the second quarter to take a 15-point lead into halftime.
Ventura plays Ocean View in the second round of playoffs on Friday night.
