My PS3 over heated and I got the "yellow light of death" according to my research on the internet. I called Sony and paid the $150 repair fee and received a refurbished PS3. I haven't had this one for more than a week and since day one it has been overheating and shutting itself down to cool off when the system was only on for a couple of minutes. So now I am in the process of sending it back to get another one. Hopefully the results will be more positive this time around.

It's not a vacuum you stupid dick.

  • Wow dude.. the PROBLEM is sitting right in front of you!!!! Yes, you managed to acknowledge that you need to keep your PS3 ventilated so you exposed the front, and but the back of it up against your wall? No wonder you've had to send your PS3 back, you can't even probably maintain the damn thing.

The PS3 had more than 2 feet of space from the wall with nothing on the left or right except a super thing flat screen tv which was also a foot away

  • My ps3 does this after about 10 minutes of play. I've cleaned the dust out and its in a well ventilated area. Does anybody know how to fix it?

  • The first time it ever happened to me was a week ago while I was playing la noire. I've owned it for 3 years and that scared the crap out of me.

  • I've tried every cool place in my house, Even my mini fridge! It still over heats and green light flashes yellow, what do I do? -.-
