Chefs on Parade 2011 Recap

The Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines successfully staged Chefs on Parade 2011, the country's longest & biggest-running culinary competition, from February 10-12 at the SMX Convention Center - attracting over 26,000 visitors...with over 100 renowned guest chefs & judges

Dubbed the "Ultimate Asian showdown," it all began with a parade of flags... capped by a ceremonial striking of the Gong.

The competitions showcased talents of culinary professionals & students from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and of course the Philippines--... all under the watchful eye of the esteemed panel of judges.... such as Belgian chef-restaurateur and "Chef in Black" host Emmanuel Stroobant.

As the competitions ensued, a variety of kitchen demos were also conducted...

New York-based Filipino Alex Dino, 2010 Sears Chef Grand Challenge Champion, had his "Healthy Lifestyle Cooking,". Of course, Chef Stroobant also had his series of demos...

Workshops on food writing, food styling and photography, wine pairing, and pralines were all standing room affairs... thanks in large part to the world class expertise of industry specialists...

After three days of excitement, the event winded to a memorable close... by introducing, the event beneficiary - the Culinary Arts Center of Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation.

Ms. Nora Daza as the first Larry J. Cruz Awardee... for outstanding achievement in culinary arts and entrepreneurship...

Congratulations to the participants and the winners... St. Therese MTC Colleges for the Student Division, the Makati Shangri-La for the Professional Division, and Culinary Team Pilipinas, was the best in the Asian Market Basket Competition.

Thanks to the COP Organizing Committee, all the guest Chefs, industry experts and judges, and event sponsors, partners & trade Exhibitors, Chefs On Parade 2011 was indeed an ULTIMATE ASIAN SHOWDOWN!
