Italy - Mare Chiaro railway station on the way to Anzio two of our favourite beaches in summer, is gloriously decorated by local graffiti spray artists. I put a piece of music I made in 1999 together with some lo-fi video I shot on the station in 2007 - saxophone palyer is my friend Lol Coxhill - Dubbing Lol.

  • It opened me up to the world of Ogun Records, such as the wonderful Brotherhood of Breath and related releases. Best jazz in the world I believe! Please, please do a version of "Rock and Roll Highway" on here sometime also! Thanks a Bunch!-Brian

  • Hi - well many thanx for your message - glad you got so much from that particular record - it sahould be released as a cd soon. I agree about Brotherhood. Louise Moholo was just here in Rome - we hadnt seen each other in a long while. Rock and Roll Hi-Way would be quite a long video!! - Kupa

  • I fondly remember Bracknell, Lol had shitloads of energy as raconteur in marquee, then jammin all night often till dawn. I liked his "disco" best! You worked with Jo Pyne back then aah happy daze!

  • Hi, i've notbeen keeping up to speed with stuff. seeing lol in comments made me think of the man himself, so i did a search. I must say its g8 to hear of bluenotes again. guess louis is all thats left.

  • Hi Mike, that's great news about "Life and Death...". Also very sorry to hear of Mike Osborne's passing on the 19th. He was a phenomenal alto saxophonist! Take care...Brian

  • I bought it because I was buying up everything keyboardist Alan Gowen was on at the time (one of my favorite keyboardists). You told me in an e-mail that your favorite musicians on that was Mike Osborne, Harry Miller and Louis Moholo. Now they're some of mine also!

  • Very good video! 5/5! Mike, I owe you a huge Thank You not only for this, but it was you who helped me get into British jazz I love so much! I bought a CD-R version from you of your "Life and Death and Paradise" LP (which is the best grass roots rockabilly music of all time in my honest opinion)in late 2004.
