MMA Training - FWG - Application #2

0)I would, first, like to try & talk you out of fighting all together because injuries last a lifetime. The older you get the more you will feel those injuries.

Okay, I cant talk you out of fighting. So at least do it the smartest way possible.

1)Baby Steps

a)Training

b)Techniques

c)Opponents

d)Everything baby steps

2)Apply Yourself

a)You must apply all these principles to get the full power of them.

3)Discipline

a)All your actions

i)Food

ii)Baby Steps Violations

A)Over training

B)Under training, resting on talent.

4)Attention

a)Get a meditation routine

b)Pay attention to everything

c)Gross experiences dull the mind while subtle experiences awaken the mind.

i)Turn the TV & radio down.

5)Question Everything

a)Is there a better way to do this?

i)Can I find a gentler way?

b)Are these the best people to train with?

c)Am I too comfortable at my gym?

d)Am I standing in my own way to succeeding?

6)Know Your Teacher: Reality

a)Learn how to learn for yourself. If not, you only know what everybody else know & you are at a competitive disadvantage.

7)Know Your Enemies: Ego & Pleasure

a)You are your own worst enemy.

b)Pleasure is weighing you down.

i)Food

ii)Music

iii)TV

8)Seek Harmony & Peace

a)Dominance attitude (ego)

b)Gentler techniques

i)There is always a softer way to dominate another person.
ii)The softest way to dominate another person is to help them.

iii)Chose growth, not destruction

9)Simplicity

a) Avoid complication

i)Make your techniques as simple as possible but no simpler.

b)Live simple

10)Summary

a)The real power of these principles is using them together to create a synergy of growth within yourself & the people around you.

11)Again, I would like to talk you out of fighting but if I cant do it the best you can.

12)To read more about the nine universal principles of growth. You can visit my blog by clicking the first link in the information section of this video.

I will also have a playlist of the applications of growth.
13)Good luck in your training & may your injuries be kept to a minimum.

14)Please rate & until next Friday, later folks.

  • I really like this blog as well !!! and ya some more people need to view this cuz it seems most fighters these days mainly focus on the physical and technical side of things and not enough on the mental side....

  • This should give you an advantage in your training.

  • man everything you said is correct im a martial artist and all these really help and i think that 80% is mental 15% is physical and the other 5% is luck cuz u just never know wen ur gonna get caight.

  • Thanks brother! I really like your breakdown of the percentages. I've been struggle to find the right percentages but you seem to have nailed it down. Thanks!

If you had to breakdown the 80% for mental down into consciousness & unconscious, what would you give each?

  • i think i would have to give the unconscious slightly more percentage because you're consciousness is based on you're own opinion which isnt always correct but i think everyone would break it donw differently so i cant give an accurate answer

  • I'm going to go 60/20.

  • Hey can y be my mma ment coach???

  • Wow I learned something new/ realized something I forgot from this video. Thanks BillyDKY!... & the machida thing had me at amazement, look what shogun did to him. I guess he find out what machida had that no one else knew about.

  • Yeah, it takes your mind off your training, your body & your learning. A still mind is were great things happen. Never underestimate peace & quiet. The best spiritual training I have ever done was in the forest. I can tell you are going to go far because you are asking the right questions. This Friday I will be putting out a video on Physical Exercise & I point out this issue. What I say is not popular but it does produce results. Good luck & let me know how it works out.

  • BillyDKY-In your opinion do you think headphones should be avoided while training?
