Lorrie Morgan-"Dear Me," July 1989

Lorrie performing her big hit "Dear Me" from her breakthrough 1988 album "Leave the Light On," only 2 months after she lost her husband, Keith Whitley. Take special note to the jacket she is wearing. This jacket and bolo tie she was wearing her is the same one Keith wore on his Austin City Limits appearance. This jacket and bolo tie now hangs in the Country Music Hall of Fame. She explained that she wore it here during this performance because it still had his scent on it, and she didn't have the heart to put it in a bag and pack it away.

She told Ralph Emery in an interview after this performance that it's a faux. She said it gave her something to play with. In fact, Ralph even mentioned how much she looked like Dolly with the faux on. She responded by looking inside Keith's old jacket she had on here (to compare her chest with hers).

I have always thought that Lorrie Morgan was a beautiful and talented woman. She is such a woman of enormous strength and dignity. She has a voice of an angel. This song is so sad and haunting. Thanks for the post and memories.

MAMS, thank you so much for posting the videos of Keith. I was raised up with his music and he is my idol. barbidoll0 all I can say is that if you honestly think that, I'm sorry. Her tour didn't cause him to over do it for nothing. Keith, you ARE the best and your sadly missed by all.
