  • Is there an issue with different powder charges that some fireball and others don't?

Even the two fierballs here were different size. I was thinking of picking up one just for fun....um, not so excited now.

  • @3buffalo13

the camera is too slow to capture the fireball reliably. it looks about the same every time with a given batch of ammo.

  • how much does an m44 run for?

  • @btistabomb126 im not sure these days. was only $99 when i got mine.

  • @btistabomb126 they still run for about $100 with the original sling, bayonet, a leather ammo pouch, basic cleaning tools, a cool looking container for cleaning solvent, and a multipurpose tool to disassemble the gun.

  • There is nothing funner than shooting a good old fashioned military surplus rifle! I had some mild steel core surplus shells that found their way into the the hill side. From what I understand, only bullets with hardened steel or tungsten cores are armor piecing, and the bullets with mild steel cores are not considered to be AP.

  • @accordv6er Oh, and by the way, I wasn't being a smart ass just to be an asshole. Half of it was using your same mannerism's to highlight the fact you were jumping on this guy when he is actually in the right. Just do more research before thinking you are right based off of incomplete information.

  • @accordv6er ... difficult to cycle and everyone I have seen and myself cycle a straight bolt much much faster bringing it down. It's a tough bolt to use period, some need to be "slapped" out of place with a half closed fist. A quick person can cycle them and reacquire very quickly, actually. You should check out the level III plates, they are a great amount better than GI ceramic plates. What "uniform" are you in? Service?

  • @accordv6er If you can keep a sight picture while cucling a 91/30 you have a bent bolt or "sniper" bolt model, which is only about 1% of mosins made. Straight bolt, which is the vast majority of all mosins, have a short bold that when loaded ready to fire the bolt sticks straight to the 3 o'clock, and when open sticks straight up to the 12 o'clock, blocking the sights from view, this guy has a straight bolt m44. The short bolt coupled with the fact its straights makes it much more...

  • @keithmnovak gladly upload it, with friends as viewers. Critique and help on technique are welcome. I didn't see you specified steel and amour, my bad there.

  • @keithmnovak First of all, my dad doesn't have any guns. XD secondly, I would very much like a 700SPS, but will probably get a savage instead. Thirdly, I have a video, cycling my mosin, a 91/30, if there are differences in the action I'm not aware of them, but I had no difficulty shooting it. First time ever firing it, (and any bolt action weapon at that, well, minus freaking .22s), is the only video I have, unfortunately, I'm in uniform, and I'm not comfortable posting. If you add me I will

  • @accordv6er The best sniper the world has ever seen used a open sighted mosin, I guaranteed when standing (or running) and shooting he brought it down to cycle the bolt. You suggestion was NOT a good suggestion, as it is not feasible or in any way better for this particular gun or just about any straight bolt military rifle for that matter. Do you understand what a straight bolt is? It goes straight up in your sight path when you cycle it. You cannot keep the sight picture anyways.

  • @accordv6er You were flaming "DUDE! wtf! why are you shooting fo f'd up dude?", this isn't your dad's Rem 770 this is a tough gun to cycle, lets see you do it with this gun, I can cycle any smooth Rem 700 SPS all day keeping sight picture but it won't happen with this. .2" mild steel is not considered "armor" by any credible source.. or real life for that matter. As I was saying level III steel armor is "hardened". Regular pot metal steel is NOT armor... so yeah.

  • @keithmnovak also, go look at the best snipers in the world, the best marksman... they don't pull the rifle out of their shooting position to cycle the bolt... So maybe, stop being an arrogant know it all before you comment on something that I was half jokingly (but a good suggestion) throwing out there.
