University of California Berkeley (Cal) ranking drops. In 2004, for example, the London-based Times Higher Education ranked Cal the second leading research university in the world, just behind Harvard; in 2009 that ranking had tumbled to 39th place

UCB Chancellor Birgeneau Loss of Credibility, Trust The UCB budget gap has grown to $150 million, and still the Chancellor is spending money that isn't there on expensive ($3 million) consultants. The Chancellor had had to use outsiders to engage his Faculty and Staff to identify inefficiencies. If the Chancellor was a successful leader he would be receiving recommendations for Faculty, Staff Academic Senate directly. The Chancellor has lost his leadership of UCB. Contact Sacramento.

May God bless Hewlett Foundation for the 113 million. Wow you must be doing something right. But come on I can find you less expensive chairs. These chairs must have built in massage.:) Just kidding. Now I hope some of this money gets put into an interest bearing escrow account so that the school will have constant money so that the money (however far into the future) does not ever eventually run out. :) High 5!
