What a bunch of baloney.

I understand Katie saying nothing from the outside can hurt us, but Katie is wrong. If Katie were right/correct/without error, then we would not be seeking her assistance [enlightenment].
We seek her [and others'] assistance for a better way; a happier way; a joyous way.
YES things hurt us from the outside, until they don't. We *call* it the "outside" irrespective of it really being our attachments to ideas.
But that's what humans do; we attach. Until we don't. [See also Buddhism, 12 steps]

What katie says is true. Nothing on the outside can hurt us. We have to let it in to be hurt by it. As children, we tend to let everything in, but even as children, we choose how it will effect us. The wonderful thing is that we can always choose again if we don't like how we chose the 1st time. We can choose to see our past from another angle. Everything is relative. So, your life is yours to shape.
blessings on your path

I got one question, maybe in your state could you answer me.
Katie says that nothing from the outside can be hurting us.
But when we are children we are really innocent and then we are hurt because we believe what we hear said bad, about us for example.
So isn't it the outside that has damaged our new fresh mental of children ?

I did the school of the work and I feel so much better since then. And it is good to go on doing the work any time there is a stressful thought. Don´t give up. It took me some years to understand the work and to be able to do it.

My initial awakening was through a tiny little book by Murray Oxman. Then I "self-realized" while listening to Adyashanti two days later. THEN I discovered Katie so it was after the fact but her teachings are so beautiful and effective, I can't get enough.

beautifully stated. thanks for it.
I awakened last year. I'm 44 years old. Looking back I realize now how much confusion, isolation and alienation feelings were prevalent in me even at a very young age. What a blessing that these beautiful kids can have a chance at experiencing unconditional love and empathy at such a young age. The Work is the cure for the confusion and barriers that have arisen in our civilization.
Love to you, katie, and all of your little helpers (I am one!).

I think Katie is right. Our own thoughts about the outside are hurting us. And we do not need her assistance, as you can do the work yourself and it is free to download the worksheets in the internet and to use the 4 questions.
