Acorn BBC Model B. Part 1 of 7. Graphics. Sunday, December 8th, 1985.
This computer got its name because in 1980, the BBC decided to start a computer literacy television series. The BBC model B was then used almost universally in British schools from its birth (1982) into the 90's.
We used to think that the BBC 'B' was the mutt's nuts in the early 80's. Getting to use one at school was a real, 'priviledge.' A computer with it's own monitor, (not plugged into a TV), and in sharply defined colour! Being able to create your own, 'user-defined graphics', was really cool! The best game to play on this machine? Elite. I spent many after school hours, in the computer room playing that game, when I was supposed to be learning BASIC!
