Acorn BBC Model B. Part 1 of 7. Graphics. Sunday, December 8th, 1985.
This computer got its name because in 1980, the BBC decided to start a computer literacy television series. The BBC model B was then used almost universally in British schools from its birth (1982) into the 90's.

  • We used to think that the BBC 'B' was the mutt's nuts in the early 80's. Getting to use one at school was a real, 'priviledge.' A computer with it's own monitor, (not plugged into a TV), and in sharply defined colour! Being able to create your own, 'user-defined graphics', was really cool! The best game to play on this machine? Elite. I spent many after school hours, in the computer room playing that game, when I was supposed to be learning BASIC!
