this video shows the work of Computer Engineering students.
The project has the capability of turning on and off with the use of a microcontroller (PIC18F452).
It used UART ports of the PIC which communicates directly to the gsm modem. It checks, reads, and interprets the SMS command.
It has four electrical outlets that can configured as on or off (through SMS commands). It has also a manual override buttons in the case that the user do not want it to be turned off is any cases with the use of SMS commands.
The language used in the development is C.
