I am going to go do my valves now that you've helped me understand how simple it really is. I have a feeling that ticking sound I hear is the valves too loose?

my friend adjusted my honda -90 valves without that fancy thingy at 0:17 and it works just fine..

my engine is fitted with camshaft ones with a higher lift and duration..
my engine sounds like a ticking clock..

I thought the piston acted as the valves on 2-strokes? Are there push rods in the Z50's? Great vid!

@penna171980 Yes but the Z50's are all 4 strokes. And no there are no push rods, the Z50 uses an overhead cam. The Honda QA50 used a pushrod motor and very early Honda Cubs used a similar motor.

@pugsonrugs No. The motor might burn a bit of oil. The older motors had only one valve seal. Only the exhaust valve had a valve seal.
