Empires: Total War ... How to stop a cavalry charge.

This footage is from Empires: Total War. Malus thought it would be slick to try and flank the side of my army with his horsemen. When I noticed his charge, I just placed a line of riflemen (not normal line infantry) in position, but, if I just stood there I would get pwn'd by his horses which were now in a charge - and It would take too long for them to actually aim for a volly at them.

So I saw a button with stakes when I selected that line of troops - spears. I clicked it and they pulled them out just RIGHT before he got his horsemen to my men. It killed half his calvalry troup and caused them rout off the field. Was pretty epic. However, this was pure luck on my part, a few seconds late and they would of not pulled them out on time. In Malus's defense, he won the overall battle by about 30 to 50 men left. I ran out of bullets with my last line infantry, and his last line infantry finished me off (since they had bullets!)

Anyways... It reminded me of that scene in Braveheart so I used the sound from the movie. BTW... this all happens very fast in the game, I had to put it in "slow motion" for it to be seen better.
