Things needed:
1.Filtered water (watch my other video)
2.Plastic Bottle
3.Heat Source

Directions: Fill up water bottle completely. Absolutely no air inside the bottle. Tie a string to bottle and place bottle about 3 to 6 inches above the flame.

In 10 to 12 minutes, you water should be boiled and sterilized... If you want to play it safe, keep it over the flame for a few extra minutes.

  • Good info Randal. A more efective way to srelilize water is to take the same bottle and put it in direct sunlight for about an hour. This method has nothing to do with heat the UV rays will kill all bacteria. Kevin OBX NC

  • @OBXSOLWIND Thanks Kevin, your right... the sun is a great way to kill bacteria from water... thanks for the info. Take care!

  • Good video. I noticed you are getting ready to put laminate flooring down, good luck, I just did it to my basement. I love it.

  • @PunisherWeaponSystem Yea, I've already put it down in my living room, dining room, and hallway... The boxes in the garage is for the Master bedroom, I just have to crack up the energy to get it done!

  • You can also swing the bottle slightly to avoid melting. It uses more fuel, but it's an option. Also, remember that BPA gets released when plastic is heated. You don't want to boil water this way unless you're truly in a very short-term survival situation. Otherwise, you'd want to try using metal or glass to boil water in. Good stuff!

  • @veritasfiles Great ideas and I totally agree with you... I wouldn't recommend this method for a daily situation... But I just wanted to show that it could be done in the event of a survival situation..

  • @pdlumina Agreed, definitely not a good process for everyday long term use... but in a survival situation, ya gotta handle business.. and this is just another tool in your toolbox.
