HOW TO: INSTALL MAME EMULATOR AND ROMS ON YOUR IPHONE OR IPOD TOUCH!!!

Hey guys this video will show you how to to download and install Mame emulator and Mame roms for your iphone and ipod touch.

1) Open cydia and search for mame4iphone and install

2) Once Mame emulator is installed, you will need to check out http://www.coolrom.com, and click on MAME rom files

3) When you download whatever roms you want, just save the zip file to your desktop

4) Next you will need to SSH into your device and navigate to /private/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/MAME

5) Now simply drag and drop your ROM zip file into the roms folder

6) Open Mame emulator and enjoy!!

I'm using a Macbook Pro 10.6.6, and I have a Ipod Touch 4g (4.2.1) If anyone knows how to make it work please let us know.

I also have tried the Mame folder many times (not Imame4all) forgot this video is about mame4iphone)

who actually dumped all the mame roms? Were they likely dumped from manafactures or companies that had the rom files backed up on archives other than the actual machine boards. THe rom files on arcade machine boards are just files that are flashed into the physical memory chips on the board. Is somebody likely to have access to the original rom files

it worked you just need the Neo-geo.rom (zip file) in the roms folder 2 to play metal slug!!

you can download roms on the device and use ifile to add them

anyone know how to add roms (using a Mac) I have no idea how to make it work using Cyberduck (i understand how to sign in and such, but there is 0 vids out there that explain what to actually do. I've tried just downloading a rom + just drag and dropping it into the imame4all > Roms folder but it doesn't work. Anyone know how to make it work (step by step? (besides just explaining how to sign in)

And do you have to do anything to the Dl'ed file?

Can I do all this through my iphone4 only? Or do I need a desktop? Because I downloaded mame then I downloaded metal slug 5 and other Rome but it won't appear in mame. What do I need to do after I download?( through my phone only) thanks bro

I just tried this on my iPhone 3GS (iOS4.0.1), and did it exactly as you described, but it just tells me that a ton of files are missing or that it simply can't play the game (I tried Alien vs. Predator and a couple other games).....is there something I need to do?
