Considered to be Sinatra's ultimate saloon song, One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)" written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer for the 1943 musical, The Sky's the Limit, was recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1947, 1954, 1958, 1962, 1966, and 1993. This is the version featured on his Capitol LP, Frank Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely, recorded on June 26, 1958 with arrangements and conducting by Nelson Riddle. The pianist is Sinatra's long time collaborator, Bill Miller. The album is available on CD.

This is genius. Sinatra. Johnny Mercer, harold Arlen. No better recording in my time.

Does anyone know who is on piano here? He's incredible. The whole thing is brilliant.

The piano player was Bill Miller, who was Sinatra's accompanist for many years. See the info above.

where is Etta James' cover?? - From all those who sang it Billie's and Frankie's versions where better I think - But I bet Etta's would be as great and more with an attitude, SO where is it ???
