@cmlnmbs i also found out that your WR-300 is a rare one now
-
Do you still have this WR-300?
-
@MisterTwister55 The * (asterisk) denotes that an alert is enabled permanently
and cannot be selected or changed
-
@WhelenVTXR2 you wont be able to disable tornado warnings at all. If the alert is marked with a *, then it is permanently enabled. I have a WR-300 & that is what it means including the Radio Shack Radios
-
@Yutzwagon404 i don't think the tv EAS would be in sync with the weather radio
-
WOAH!!!!!! YOUR WR-300 IS RARE & I FOUND 2 OF THEM ON EBAY

Yes, I still have the WR-300 as my primary weather alert in the house. It probably is starting to show its age, the statement light will light up and stay on for extended periods of time for no reason. Otherwise, I'm glad I still have it. Thanks to everyone for their comments.

I believe that everyone is hearing a different weather band radio in a separate part of the house. Sorry for the overlap. My intention was to only put some info on weather radio on youtube.
To those who commented on an actual voice being used. I'm not old, but doesn't anyone remember when these broadcasts were 100% human voice? I DO!!! The change to automated voice was only in 1997 when the first male voice was broadcast.

Thanks for the comments. NWS Duluth gives their tests via voice, and while I'm not 100% sure, I believe it is give the interns some experience of how it was done in the past.
SAME codes will continue to break counties and parishes down into smaller parcels, allowing us to program our radios for locations closer to home. In addition, the new polygon warning system will warn of severe weather to smaller geographical locations.
