@rpb1231 Mandolin Srinivas has NOT missed any beat. It is a beat of 7 called, Mishra Chapu Taalam in the carnatic style of rhythm. In Hindustani, it is called Rupak. He just didn't play the last note. A prodigy of the nature of Srinivas KNOWS his Talam(Taal). You can be assured of that. :) Maybe you don't understand the Carnatic system well enough. The main instrumentalist/vocalist need not play the last note. That is for the percussionist to finish.

great jugalbandhi..its a treat to watch ustadji and mandolin srinivasan. The kids are so lucky. mondolin srinivasan is a maestro in carnatic music as he glides over the strings with such an ease in building up the raga...great combination.
