Recorded after Sunset on November 11th 2007 at the St. Georges hall. This meeting was to celebrate the birthday of the founder of the faith. The Baha'i day starts not at dawn as with most of us, but at Sunset.
I had a great time at this meeting, and listened to prayers from two Buddhists; two Jewish ladies, two Islamic sufis, a Krishna Hindu, and a Christian. Wonderful, and it was so good to see everyone together! All religions get on well in this town of Glastonbury; the spiritual heart of the world. Unusually, the Muslim lady said that Jesus will return via Glastonbury.
In this video, you shall hear some worries about falling through the floor into the "Blue note" cafe below, quite a laugh to hear "My God!!" when Doreen, the lady from Zimbabwe stamps her feet; I found it quite funny to hear this comment, well, she is quite a large lady :)
This video is part one of two which due to restrictions imposed by YouTube has had to be divided into two. Pt2 next.
The video in its entirety with no tiresome edits imposed, can be seen on MySpace: www.myspace.com/mikesey

  • Jesus said of the false prophets "You will know them by their fruits." I doubt a religion that encourages unity of all people and equality of all races can be taken as bad teachings.

  • I couldn't agree more with you on that.

A very good outline of exactly why Baha'i IS different. cheers.

All religions do in fact sing from the same songbook, albeit with different tunes.

  • Can't we all just get along!

  • As Jesus said: "I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.... " Nonetheless, the spiritual truth of the Word of God is never changed. Only the presentation of the Word of God, the outward forms of religion, will change to suit the time and the place where they appear." ---- Bible Proofs: Afireside aid for teaching Christians compiled by Nabil I.Hanna.

  • Baha'is call this periodic dispensation of God's Will "progressive revelation." In every age, the Word of God is renewed with the appearance of a new prophet or Manifestation of God who brings the teachings which are needed in proportion to our stage of maturity.

  • Then Moses appeared and spoke the Word of God, bringing a new Law. After him, the minor prophets of Israel continued to guide the people with the Word of God - Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and so forth. When Jesus Christ began His Ministry, He represented the Word of God for His day.

  • "Jesus said: "Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away" (Luke 21:33) However, Jesus is not the only "Word." The Words of God are endless.

Christians know and understand that the Word of God was revealed in stages. The earliest Hebrew prophets spoke to the people and gave them God's Word - Abraham, Noah, Jacob and others.

  • I guess interpretation is always an issue when it comes to Scriptural verses.. One thing seems likely though, that if Jesus warned of FALSE Christs in future, then doesn't that imply that there WILL be a 'true' Return?
