25% for 10 seconds?4 me personally flexibilty is improved thru the amount of breaths taken its a way to monitor things becuase if you think about it might take 10secs to hold 1 postion but by the time the PT has taken 2 change to the opposite side (ie the hamstrings) then surely if there is unequal number of breaths for each side then there would be an unequal amount of oxygen being fed to the muscle inturn an unequal stretch. But making sure the breaths in their timing are relatively the same
I agree with n0NcOn4MisT. This is really bad PNF technique. If the straight leg raise is at 90 degrees, it's really not necessary to go any further than that. Plus, stretching the hamstrings to the extreme like that while adding ankle dorsiflexion is really going to pull at the sciatic nerve. This may be be OK for younger athletes, but I would advise keeping the ankle relaxed and not going beyond 90 degrees of hip flexion while the knee is extended.
